Navaratri | Dussehra special-Moong dal Kheer | Pasi Paruppu payasam | How to make Pasi Paruppu Payasam - Naughty Little BEES Kitchen

Navaratri is the special occasion for Indians. Celebrating navaratri with golu, poojas is going on everywhere. In my childhood me and my sister invited for all house in our street to sing in golu😉.Just going back to those days in memory gives me happy. My sister sing well than me😁. So now as a responsible mom & wife I started to do poojas in navaratri & preparing number of variety payasams daily. I am so happy to share you the recipes here. Dish Name: Pasi Paruppu Payasam            Preparation Time: 20minutes
Cuisine: Indian                                        Serves: 2-3people


Ingredients Needed
Moong dal/Pasi paruppu-1/2cup*
Grated Jaggery-1/2cup
Water-1/4cup
Grated Coconut-1/4cup
Cardamom powder-1/4tsp
Ghee-1tbsp
Cashews & Raisins-1tbsp each

*1Cup-240ml

Preparation
  1. Take 1/2cup Moong dal in the bowl & wash it well
  2. Pressure cook it for 4 whistles 
  3. Heat the sauce pan with 1/4cup water & add 1/2cup jaggery to this
  4. Allow the jaggery to melt completely. Filter the impurities & keep it aside
  5. Heat the kadai with 1tbsp of ghee & fry cashews & raisins & keep it aside in the bowl
  6. Now in the same kadai with the remaining ghee, add cooked & mashed moong dal to it 
  7. Add filtered jaggery syrup to the dal. Mix it well. Allow it to cook for 3 minutes
  8. Add 1/4 cup grated jaggery to this & mix it well
  9. Add 1/4tsp of Cardamom powder to the kadai. Allow it to boil for 3 minutes
  10. Garnish the kheer with fried nuts 
  11. Moong dal kheer/Pasi paruppu payasam is ready

Notes 
  1. Instead of grated coconut, Coconut milk can be added
  2. Add some almond with grated coconut & add this to the kheer 
  3. Chopped almonds can also be added while garnishing
  4. Kheer will get thicken once cools, add warm milk to the kheer
