Tomato Pulao | Tomato Peas pulao | How to make Toamto Pulao - Naughty Little BEES Kitchen

Getting bored of usual lunch menus? Wanna prepare something delicious and simple then you can go for this recipe which takes less than 20 minutes to prepare ,favorite lunch box menu of so much people, travel friendly recipe too. Whenever we go nearby places we used to prepare simple variety rice like lemon rice or tomato pulao and this goes well simply with any raita or even chips.This is one of the kids friendly recipe.As my little-one loves tomato this recipe is prepared frequently in my house.

Ingredients needed
Cooked Basmati Rice-1cup*
Onion-1(big)
Tomato-2(big)
Green Peas-handful
Turmeric Powder-1/4tsp
Red chili Powder-1/2tsp
Coriander Powder-1tsp
Salt-as needed

To Temper
Oil-2tsp
Mustard seeds-1/4tsp
Urad dal-1/2tsp
Channa dal-1tsp
Green chili-1
Curry leaves-few

*1Cup-240ml

Preparation
  1. Heat a kadai with 1.5tsp of oil add Mustard seeds when it splutters add Urad dal,Channa dal. When dal turns golden color add curry leaves and green chili

  2. Add finely chopped onion to the kadai and saute till it turns transparent

  3. Add finely chopped tomatoes and saute it well

  4. Add little salt which makes tomato cook faster and turns mushy

  5. Add 1/4tsp turmeric powder,1/2tsp red chili powder,1tsp coriander powder and saute it well

  6. Add a handful of cooked green peas to this and mix it well

  7. Add 1/2tsp of oil to the cooked rice and little salt and fluff the rice with fork

  8. Add the rice to the kadai and mix everything well carefully.

  9. Tomato pulao is ready

  10. Serve hot with any raita of your choice.We had with onion raita
Notes
  1. Wash & Soak the basmati rice  for 30minutes. Add 2cupsof water to the 1cup of rice and cook it. 
  2. Allow it to cool, Once cool add little oil and salt and fluff the rice with fork to get separate grains
