Capsicum Chutney | Green capsicum chutney | How to make green capsicum chutney | Side dish for Idli | Dosa - Naughty Little BEES Kitchen

Its necessary to make variety of side dishes for breakfast like idly or dosa or pongal. We do have plenty of vairities in dosa & idly even in pongal. When preparing the food one should concern about the nutrition too.Green Capsicum has VitaminA ,VitaminC, VitaminE and natural sugars.Adding veggies in chutney make it nutritious.Kids would definitely love this flavor.


Ingrdients needed
To Grind
Oil-1tsp
Urad dal-1tbsp
Channa dal-1tbsp
Red chili-3
Onion-1big
Tomato-2 medium size
Capsicum-1

To Temper
Oil-1tsp
Mustard seeds-1/4tsp
Urad dal-1/2tsp
Curry leaves-few

Preparation
  1. Roughly chop onion, tomatoes, capsicum and keep it ready

  2. Heat the kadai with a 1/4 tsp of oil and add 1tbsp urad dal,1tbsp channa dal,3 red chilies and fry it till the color of the dal changes. once done change this to blender 

  3. Add 3/4tsp of oil to the kadai and add onion and saute it till it turns transparent

  4. Then add chopped tomatoes and saute it till it turns mushy.
  5. Then add little salt in this stage which helps tomato cook faster

  6. Add capsicum,saute it for 2 minutes.

  7. Once capsicum cooked still crunchy add this to the blender jar and allow it to cool. 

  8. After cools down,Blend it nicely with adding little water 

  9. Now heat the little kadai for tempering. Add a tsp of oil, once the oil heats add mustard seeds once it splutters add urad dal and when the dal changes its color add curry leaves

  10. Add this tempering to the chutney. Enjoy with idly,dosa,chapathi


Notes
  1. I used only green capsicum you can use red capsicum which has more benefits than green capsicum
  2. Reduce or increase red chilies as per your taste. I used byadagi red chili which gives nice red color and less hot
